Chinese Allegories
These idioms are commonly used in modern Chinese language. With the story and the English translation following each idiom,we hope it not only open a window for learning Chinese idioms but also improving their Chinese language ability.
Chinese allegory is a kind of short, humorous and vivid statement in Chinese language. It consists of two parts, the first part plays the function as an introduction, like a riddle, while the second part is like an answer to the riddle ahead which carries the main message. In certain language environment, the latter part is often unstated since people can guess and understand its intention just from the first part.
